Staff in the Department provide support for many of the professional users of re-usable medical devices and technologies in the hospital. MPCE is charged with ensuring the hospital buys the right equipment for the job, that it is maintained appropriately during its lifetime and that it is disposed of appropriately when no longer useful. Ensuring high levels of safety and mitigating risks associated with the use of many different types of medical devices for diagnosis, treatment and care of patients is a priority of the Department.

The Department is not accessed directly by patients.
